On January 18, at a press conference with nonprofits at CT State Senator Cathy Osten, The Alliance released a report entitled “Nonprofit Workforce Crisis” that includes results from a survey of members last month. Nonprofits report:
- Nearly 1 in 5 – 18% – of jobs in their organizations are unfilled.
- 91% say it’s been difficult or extremely difficult to recruit staff in the last year.
- 68% report demand has increased amidst this staffing crisis – 41% by more than a quarter and 11% by more than half.
- 59% say they now have a waiting list for services.
At the press conference, four of our members joined Sen. Cathy Osten to recommit to increasing funding for community nonprofits in next year’s state budget adjustment, and to continuing that increase over the next five years. Watch the press conference here:
