Statement from Gian Carl Casa, President & CEO, CT Community Nonprofit Alliance, on the April consensus revenue forecast:

“Connecticut’s nonprofit providers are in crisis now. As we said just this morning, after more than a decade of underfunding, providers are already shutting down programs and closing doors, while the need for services is growing. A state budget without an increase in funding for programs that contract with the state to provide services will lead to more service cuts, and the crisis will only worsen.

“We’re glad to see that Connecticut still has the resources to pay for services that reflect the state’s core values to support the our most vulnerable citizens.”
